What: JUMP – The Comic & Martial Art Performance
When:
June 18 to 22
Where: Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon
Contact: +66 (0)2 262 3456

The Singha Corporation proudly presents the hugely successful, award-winning live Korean martial arts comedy show JUMP…

Meet one very typical, but dramatically agile, Korean family … from the authoritarian grandfather, drunken uncle and karate chopping mother to the incongruous daughter’s boyfriend. Each member is a martial arts expert, possessing championship level Tae Kwon Do, Tae Kyan and gymnastic skills. They enjoy nothing more than challenging each other to martial arts showdowns, displaying their awe-inspiring expertise. The plot thickens when two burglars break into the family home in the middle of the night - one a sleek, mean villain, the other a plump, bumbling idiot. When the family discovers the intruders a mighty battle ensues.

JUMP fuses the ancient Korean martial arts Tae-kwon-do and Tae-kyun along with Kung-fu. Not only will the audience be laughing along to the story of a crazy family, they will also be stunned by the actors’ live skills on stage. The fights include flawless kicking, punching and jump kicking – all of them executed with finesse to highlight the beauty of martial arts reminiscent of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

The troupe has toured virtually everywhere, and it won the Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2006, the Grand Prize for Drama & Musical from the Korean National Assembly, and featured in The Royal Variety Performance shown on BBC TV in December 2006. Tickets cost 500, 900 or 1,200 Baht and Premium tickets are available at all Thai Ticket Major booths, 52 branches of the Thailand Post both in Bangkok and environs, and Major and EGV counters. Hanuman the Mighty review

Showing at the Sala Chalermkrung Theatre (every Friday and Saturday at 20:30) until December 29, 2007 as part of 60th anniversary celebrations for the King, Hanuman the Mighty's adventures is a lot more than just distracting, dressy fun. It's a captivating tale about courage, power, loyalty and selfless service. Drenched in Thai mysticism, it's also a fascinating window onto Thailand's classical masked dance, or Khon. Oh, and there's a monkey in it. (READ MORE)
