Top 10 Nightlife in Siam
Best Places to Go at Night in Siam
Siam is best known for its shopping, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great for nightlife! Start the night at one of the three rooftop bars in Siam, where you can sip cocktails and enjoy the sunset. If you’re looking for places to dance the night away, there’s a good selection of late-night bars and clubs, including Mixx, which stays open until the sun comes up. For live music, the classic Hard Rock Café gives you a slice of Americana, and for a local feel, head down to Co-Co Walk, a collection of bars, music venues and restaurants. Siam may not look that busy at night, but don’t judge a book by its cover, there’s plenty going on here.
Combining three remarkable dining and entertainment establishments within the ‘factory chic’ confines of polished concrete and 360 degree views, Heaven Bangkok brings an air of urban sophistication to the city. Situated on the 17th to 20th floors on top of Zen Department Store – part of the colossal Central World Shopping Mall – in the Siam district of Bangkok, guests can expect creative cocktails, conceptual dining, and classic city views. Specifically, the complex consists of Zense Gourmet Deck and Lounge, Shintori Japanese Art Cuisine and Horizons Gastronomy and Mixology, all grouped under the umbrella name of Heaven Bangkok. We love the location of Heaven Bangkok because it is the only rooftop bar and restaurant in the middle of the shopping district of Bangkok and formerly the idea of a sundowner cocktail after shopping meant a cross town dash to the riverside, whereas now it is simply an elevator ride away. Playhouse Theatre has brought their family-friendly ladyboy show to Bangkok with glamourous dancers, stunning costumes and classic show tunes. The show differs from most other transvestite cabarets in that the emphasis is on expertly choreographed dance routines and showmanship (excuse the pun) rather than any kind of erotic dancing. There are over ten separate acts during the 1 hour 15 minute performance during which time the audience will be treated to renditions of Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and Swan Lake. The show costs 1,200 baht per ticket for either the 20:15 early show or the 21:45 late show, seven days a week. Included in the price is a drink of your choice. Read More...

Nothing short of an institution, Hard Rock Café Bangkok delivers the same fun times, friendly staff and belly-busting burgers associated with all branches of this incredibly popular franchise. It’s a reassuring slice of Americana for the travel-weary, a place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, and, as night falls, one of the most famous places in the city to rock out to live music. Located in Siam Square, the entrance is only a few paces away from Siam BTS station and MBK, Siam Discovery and Siam Paragon shopping malls; an ideal place to capture its target market of tourists and expats. Built over three floors, the entrance is faced by a stage that is put to full effect most nights of the week from 21:30 onwards. Expect cover versions of famous anthems to get the crowd dancing and singing. Read More...

Red Sky doesn't offer striking riverside or treetop views that other rooftop bars enjoy, it has pretty impressive 360-degree panoramic vistas from its 55th floor, one of the most convenient locations in town. From up here you can see quite far, weather permitting. You can also peek inside the new extra-luxurious Kempinski Hotel next door and even get a bird's eye view of the large royal residence next to it (mostly a sea of huge trees). There's a good selection of sophisticated European cuisine which is a bit pricey without being too extravagant and the cocktail and wine list are long enough so you're sure to find the perfect drink to go with your lamb or imported beef. The setting, with the gigantic arch and its ever-changing colours, will help make your dinner really special. Read More...

Mixx Nightclub in Bangkok is the place to go in Siam for an after-hours party. The club has two rooms: the main room is dedicated to hip hop and party pop, while the cave-like backroom is the place for more beat-heavy house music. Since its opening in 2010 Mixx has become a popular place to dance until sunrise. It is well-liked by young international and Thai models thanks to the free entrance and drinks offers. Entry for mere mortals is 350 baht and comes with a free drink. Mixx is located in the basement of the Intercontinental Hotel, only a short walk from the BTS at Chit Lom, but most taxis will take you here for free as they get a commission. Although the club opens at 21:00 the crowds don’t really arrive until just before midnight, and by 1:00 it’s usually at full capacity, with the party continuing until around 6:00. Read More...

6. Co-co Walk
If you want to drink and dance with the locals, then one of the best places to go in Siam is Coco Walk, near exit 2 of Ratchathewi station. There’s a whole range of different bars, pubs and live music venues here, and it is a great place to grab a good value dinner before listening to a great variety of music, from cover bands to Thai rock. Head to The Tube for a London-inspired evening, complete with a good dose of Oasis, 69 plays rock covers and the latest chart hits and for something a little more relaxed you can shoot some pool and listen to acoustic Thai songs at Chilling House Cafe. The average age of most of the crowd at Co-co is 25, so recommended for those who are young, or at least young at heart. There’s around 15 different venues here, and they open from early evening until late, with most people arriving after 21:00.

7. Spasso (Grand Hyatt Erawan)
This bar, club and restaurant is an institution in Bangkok, entertaining crowds with live music and plenty of cocktails. Located in the lower lobby of Grand Hyatt Erawan it is popular with visitors and residents of the city, and although it might not be the most cutting-edge of venues, everyone who turns up here is looking for a good time and a little bit of sophistication. Once you step inside, you will almost forget you are Bangkok, because the interior is pure Italian. It’s open from dinner (including oven-baked pizzas) from 18:00, but the band doesn’t really start cranking up the volume until 21:00. Cocktails cost around 350 baht and pitchers 1200 baht. There’s a decent selection of old and new world wines too.
- Opening Hours: 18:00 – 02:30
- Address: Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, 494 Rajadamri Road
8. The Roof (Siam@Siam Hotel)
The Roof Restaurant and Bar is on the 25th floor of the Siam@Siam Hotel, only a short walk from the BTS at National Stadium. It has a Champagne & Wine Bar with an excellent view, towards the old town of Bangkok, which because of strict planning permission, has no high rises, very different from the rest of Bangkok. There’s comfortable seating here and the music is good, not so loud that you can’t have a conversation but, really adds to the atmosphere. It’s open from 18:00, which is perfect for catching the sunset. If you prefer, you can come for dinner at the restaurant, which includes individual hot stone grill. But don’t worry if you’re not hungry, they very welcoming of guests who simple want a cocktail or a beer whilst they enjoy the view though, and it’s a great spot to start your night.

More entertainment complex than club, this stylish modern basement beneath the Novotel Siam Square Hotel pulls in an eclectic mix of tourists and girls every night of the week. The sprawling main room is focussed around a stage, with a dance-floor and many raised tables and stools fringing it. Here the all-singing, all-dancing All Star Band plays the latest R&B, hip-hop, dance, pop and rock hits. The latest hip-hop and R&B tracks are spun just next door, in the suitably named boom room. There's an extensive drinks menu offered throughout, with cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, even champagne available. 10. Love F Bar (Intercontinental Bangkok)
Open 7 nights a week, Love F Bar attracts a similar crowd to Mixx, which is no surprise as it’s located just next door. Come here first and make the most of the fun lounge style atmosphere and excellent cocktails before heading onto the dance floor to shimmy with the beautiful people of Bangkok. Part of the FashionTV company, it’s a sleek and shiny affair with runway shows on the flat-screens around the bar and up to the minute music. It’s no surprise that many of the guests who frequent this bar are part of Bangkok’s modelling industry, and most evenings are themed around this, with “I am model” every Wednesday.
