For the last 10 years, the chef has been providing Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine at Xing Fu, with top-class ingredients, many of them imported. Assorted cold hors d'oeuvre is a good starter for the undecided, offering boiled century eggs, alcohol-soaked chicken with sliced roasted pork and a big tangle of crunchy jellyfish mixed with sesame oil and red chilli. Deep-fried roasted soft shell crab with salt and pepper is also delicious. Roasted peking duck is superb and big enough to be shared between several people. The skin, scraped clean of all fat, is served with tortilla-style soft pancakes. the dim sum menu is a popular lunch-time option, and there is a healthy selection of vegetarian dishes.

Setting

Xing Fu is decorated in simple, modern Chinese style: red chairs, round tables with crisp white cloths and lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
