Veteran chef and owner Jakkrit Phuengsamphan uses Western cooking techniques to conjure up Thai dishes. Highly recommended as an appetiser is coconut crepes stuffed with green papaya salad, which is topped with delightfully fresh crabmeat, a triumph of presentation as well as taste. Equally satisfying is grilled tenderloin salad, which features definitively Thai ingredients such as lime, chilli and basil to offer a mild spiciness that seems attuned to foreign palates. From the main courses, a generous portion of Australian lamb shank is smothered in delectable tamarind curry sauce. The lamb is tender and the sauce offers a good balance of tangy tamarind and soothing coconut milk. Baked fish fillet served with rocket salad and a pungent lime dressing is a good, lighter choice. Finish off with sticky toffee pudding with warm caramel sauce.

Setting

Decorated in a Thai contemporary style, the eatery reflects the menu. Modern furniture and artistic photos with traditional Thai decorative items is a stylish combination.
