Witch's now offers a simpler menu of tapas (more eclectic bar food than anything authentically Spanish), tacos, oysters, pizzas, burgers and a few old Brit pub favourites. The best dishes are based on Japanese wagyu and Australian beef and lamb. Parmesan taco, filled with grilled Aussie striploin, is zesty with horseradish; crab cakes with jalapeno and water chestnuts are also excellent. Aussie burger may be the best in Bangkok: a big, juicy rib-eye patty with fried egg, smoked bacon, cheddar and garlic aioli. Slow-cooked Australian rib of beef is also exquisite. Some dishes need a firmer oversight: roast foie gras with blueberry is undercooked; duck fat fries is not appreciably different from the usual. Desserts are yummy; close with apple and raspberry-hazelnut crumble, cheese platter or spotted dick.
