Vintage 21 is a relative newcomer that hopes to tempt aficonados of Italian and French cuisine. Porcini truffle cream soup makes a light appetiser. Served moderately hot, it's tasty and creamy. Next to arrive is pan-fried US scallops. Extraordinarily fresh, the scallops go perfectly with the slightly zesty green apple and tarragon sauce. There is a wide assortment of pasta creations to choose from, such as spaghetti alla salsiccia, featuring Italian sausage, garlic, dried chilli and basil, a dish that's well attuned to Thai palates. Another highlight among the mains is charcoal-grilled fillet of Australian beef, which is fresh and tender. The meat complements the accompanying potato pancake and grilled eggplant very well. The best way to round off a meal is warm chocolate souffle.

Setting

Set in a glass-walled, wooden house, the eatery has two storeys and emanates an intimate, lamp-lit ambience.
