The Vertigo appetiser platter gives a luxurious selection of foie gras, lobster spring rolls and the like. Green mango is something of a token nod to Thailand on a plate of scallops; kobe carpaccio is excellent, but the additional crispy fish is a bit superfluous. Moving to the mains, roasted wild salmon is superb, not overcooked as is often the fate of this mistreated fish; cardamon-scented lamb rack is tender but fairly bland. The vegetarian selection is more imaginative than is often the case; onion tart is a tasty option. A chocolate platter for two is a popular dessert choice; black forest trifle is an imaginative, kirsch-drenched alternative, or have rhubarb crumble if you want to play it safe.

Setting

Alfresco dining with a fabulous view from the 61st floor. Vertigo's popularity means you may find yourself a little closer to the next table than you would have wished. The adjacent Moon Bar is good for a pre- or post-prandial glass.
