Vanilla Garden is a lifestyle compound, consisting of two restaurants (Japanese and Chinese), as well as a bookshop.

FOOD

The Japanese/Italian Vanilla Cafe is decorated in 50s retro style with a homely atmosphere. The menu here is interesting, offering traditional as well as fusion Japanese food. highly recommended appetisers include moji tempura, Japanese rice cakes deep-fried tempura style. Sushi gratin is Californian maki baked with mayonnaise and cheese. For a main course try spaghetti with fresh prawns and prawn roe, a slightly spicy pasta dish where Italian influences come to the fore. Hamburger steak on rice is another interesting fusion dish. Western desserts as well as Japanese-style crepes are on the menu; try crepe with red bean paste and green tea ice cream. The Chinese restaurant Royal Vanilla is in a more traditional tea-room style, and the menu here offers a large selection, including dim sum, popular rice and noodle varieties, and other main dishes.
