FOOD

While Cantonese dishes dominate the menu there are a number from Shanghai. There are delicacies from shark's fin to suckling pig and imported shellfish, as well as home-made favourites like dim sum for lunch. A must-have is stir-fried spinach topped with scrambled salted egg and boiled century egg which proves a flavourful combination. Shanghainese noodle salad with sliced pork is spicy yet tasteful with chilli, chopped garlic and lemon. For an authentic taste of clay pot, duck web and braised fish maw simmered with shiitake mushroom and lettuce is hearty and delectable. Another treat worth the 10-minute wait is rice baked with black olive and minced pork. Recommended desserts include fried Chinese pancake with date filling, and chilled sago with cantaloupe.
