FOOD
Adequate food to fuel shoppers visiting the Jim Thompson House. Poh pia gai, chicken spring rolls, are a bit boring, but gai hor bai toey, marinated chicken chunks wrapped in pandanus leaves are big, delicious, deep-fried, boneless, juicy pieces infused with a slightly sweet sauce. Caesar salad with pan-fried salmon amazes with warm slices of fish in a pleasingly cheesy salad. Pla krapong priew wan is deep-fried red snapper with sweet and sour sauce, which is very nice though perhaps a tad too sweet. Pla pad prik thai dum is deep-fried red snapper with black pepper and has a wonderful taste thanks to the dark peppers, minced onion, red and green bellpeppers and other tweaks. Decadence is discovered in warm, thick, chocolate raspberry pudding cake.
