The menu features a selection
of traditional game dishes to balance out the more
conventional meat offerings. Pan-seared foie gras on
raisin brioche with black truffle sauce is an excellent,
rich starter. Maine lobster with raspberry dressing and
celeriac remoulade is beautifully presented. Superb
French sole fillet is glazed with a complex parsley sauce,
complemented by asparagus with serrano ham and
roasted baby artichokes with lemon emulsion. Rack
of lamb with herb crust, zucchini, potato fondant and
baby onions provides a lively combination of flavours
and textures. Chocolate fondant with black pepper and
home-made vanilla ice cream adds further decadent
richness. Raspberry tartlet and light mascarpone cream
is less successful, tasting slightly over-sweet.
Deliciously subtle flavours in eye-pleasing presentations will delight diners who don't want to be filled up, as portions are dainty. The venue is elegantmodern with an open kitchen at the back. A whimsical touch is the projection of silent films on the wall.
