SETTING

The restaurant is simply decorated in a Chinese style with comfortable seats and a bright, open atmosphere.

FOOD

The Empress boasts delicious and hefty dim sums which are on a special dim sum menu. Recommended is har gau lobster which uses fresh lobster meat to fill the dumpling. Hong Kong-style shao mai is also superb and so is sponge bean curd and barbecue duck in brown sauce. Fried fish maw with scrambled egg and shrimps is perfect for starters. For soup, do try the restaurant's shark's fin soups. Another must-try is bean curd soup with seafood and crab roe. There is an abundance of seafood including crab claw, lobster, shrimp, fish, scallop and diners can choose to have the seafood of their choice fried, baked in milk, steamed with soy or stir-fried with different sauces. Wash down the meal with gingko nuts and Chinese jujube in hot syrup or bird's nest and coconut milk with sago and cantaloupe.
