FOOD
Somboon has been in the business of Thai seafood for 35 years and it takes no prisoners. Many have tried to duplicate its heavenly seafood selections and most have failed - there is but one Somboon, at three convenient locations. All seafood, if not harvested from the on-location aquariums, is bought market fresh that day. Crab fried in yellow curry paste, shallots and egg is the house speciality. With or without the shells included is the only decision that need be made - simply amazing. Follow it up with fresh scallops and asparagus steamed in soysauce and then steamed jumbo prawns with garlic and chilli. The obligatory whole fish must be observed at Somboon; steamed sea bass in soya bean sauce is meaty, with the juices making an excellent accompaniment for rice or barbecued squid.
