The menu presents mostly standard-fare Italian dishes without too much pomp or ceremony. Antipasto a la Six Degrees is a selection of mixed appetisers for two that could do with a bit more imagination so better to start with either New Zealand scallops or mussels, which are both nicely spiced with a touch of chilli and other herbs. The salads are fresh and nicely dressed but a little plain in presentation. There is a good selection of pastas to choose from plus four versions of risotto, and the pizzas are of the relatively hearty nature. Main courses include decent lamb, pork, beef and chicken selections with scalloppine di maiale alla Milanese being a very tasty pork tenderloin wrapped in home-made bread crumbs and served with rocket salad. Torta di cioccolata calda is well worth ordering 30 minutes in advance as the dessert menu requires, although helpful chefs will do their best to get it to you quicker if you are pushed for time.

Setting

Six Degrees is an ultra-modern, chic Italian restaurant with a separate bar and lounge. Acid jazz and laid-back new age music is played fairly loudly and the trendy wood and metal chairs are not all-conducive to a relaxing meal.
