FOOD:

The menu consists primarily of home-style Turkish dishes. A very scrumptious speciality that comes highly recommended is kasarli pide, a Turkish version of a cheese pizza. The cheese and tomato slices are baked on top of a soft warm bread with a crunchy exterior adding a little something to every bite. Another delightful dish is hunkar begendi kebab, charcoal-grilled lamb pieces with tomato and chilli served on a Turkish version of bechamel sauce. For a variety of different meats on offer, try karisik izgara, a mixed kebab platter of lamb and chicken prepared in different ways, served with pilaf or rice and salad. As a side dish, give the famous hummus a try, and to complete the meal order lavas, crunchy warm baked bread with sesame seeds.

SETTINGS:

Shaman is decorated simply, with indoor and outdoor seating and a flatscreen TV displaying Turkish music videos. The staff is friendly and helpful to anyone who needs help navigating the possibly unfamiliar menu.
