The menu mixes restaurant classics with less common dishes. Homemade grilled sausage gives a real taste of Italy. Spinach cheese gratin works wonders with this much abused vegetable. Succulent lobster makes a good soup choice, as does asparagus. Risotto is a real test of Italian fine cooking skills; the version here, with lobster sauce, is pretty fair but don't expect the full italiano vero effect. Perfectly al dente spaghetti vongole, on the other hand, more than repays the chef's training in Italy. Tiramisu is traditional and delicious, but vanilla ice cream with caramelised orange peel offers a more unusual finale to the meal.

Setting

Entering the colonial-style house of Scoozi offers a respite from the noise and bustle of Bangkok. The decoration is stylish, with a beautiful wine cellar and a visible kitchen.
