FOOD

Planet Bollywood offers earthy, delectably authentic Indian fare. Outstanding potato samosa, freshly fried flaky pastry pyramids encasing potato and peas redolent of spices, is a must try. Reshmi kebab, moist boneless chunks of chicken breast in a gingery marinade, is lightly grilled and a good foil to spicier entrees. Rogan josh kashmiri, tender chunks of lamb in a lightly spiced brown curry, is very good. Malai prawns, a deceptively mild-looking curry that packs a good kick counters perfectly cooked fresh, sweet prawns. Paneer tikka tawa masala, tandoor grilled triangles of firm cottage cheese topped with a piquant chunky tomato, onion and green pepper gravy, is a veritable delight. Hot days and heavy meals call for refreshing home-made kulfi, pistachio and almond-studded cardamom-scented milk ice.
