A very stylish restaurant set high above the skyline with modern furnishings, ambient lighting and mellow aquariums.

FOOD

Although Pier 59 does offer a couple of meat dishes and some thoughtfully tasty vegetarian selections, diners should focus on the seafood on offer. For complete decadence Oscietra, Sevruga and Beluga caviars are offered in 30g and 50g servings. Three types of freshly shucked American oysters accompanied by lightly spiced horseradish mousseline are best by the dozen. All fish mains come with a selection of complementary and sometimes intriguing sauces and vegetable ideas such as pan-fried barramundi with wok-tossed cabbage and smoked sausage and a ratatouille emulsion, or soy and ginger glazed wild salmon, and striped sea bass roulade with a mint pesto and braised endive. Order green apple sherbet or bitter-sweet chocolate espresso cake with chocolate brandy ice cream for dessert.
