Food

The best way to sample Greek food is via meze, a selection of nibbles. At Olive you can choose your own, or let the kitchen do the thinking for you. Dolma (stuffed vine leaves) is tasty and juicy; falafel (chick-pea rissoles) and filo puffs avoid the dryness that is so often a problem with these dishes. Dips include hummus (chick pea and sesame) and tzatziki (yoghurt and cucumber). If you prefer a conventional main course, moussaka is hearty and satisfying, with a nice nutmeg kick to the sauce; lamb souvlaki is flavoursome but perhaps a little chewy. There is also a decent selection of salads, wraps and pasta dishes. Desserts include baklava (walnut pastry) or thick, tangy Greek yoghurt with almonds and honey. Finish off with a bracing Greek coffee.

Setting

The newest outpost of Bangkok's Greek eating empire is cool and relaxed, with sofas, a tiled floor and wrought-iron decor. The Pilates studio and nail bar upstairs guarantee a passing trade of lunching ladies.
