The menu offers a mixture of
seafood and vegetarian dishes, with an emphasis on
healthy food and organic ingredients wherever possible.
There is a small selection of Vietnamese delicacies
with fresh spring rolls providing an interesting contrast
to the Thai food. Popular Thai specialties include mee
grob, yum som-o, tom khong, miang kuaytiew and nam
prik ong. The presentation of tiger prawns is beautiful
and the taste is not far behind while soft-shell crab
with black pepper provides an unusual combination of
textures and flavours. Desserts, all handmade on the
premises, include old English favourites such as breadand-
butter pudding and apple crumble with custard
ice cream.
GO? Na Aroon provides an unlikely oasis of calm in the heart of Sukhumvit. The restaurant is on the ground floor of a 1940's style villa, and the poolside tables could be in one of Thailand's more rural corners. Customers are primarily guests of the hotel, although an increasing number of locals are discovering the unique charms of Na Aroon's location and menu.
