My Place offers home-made fusion fare that is as popular as its desserts. Salads include novel combinations like crispy prawn and ebiko cream, but a less adventurous choice of soft-shell crab salad with tomato in balsamic dressing will also not let you down; the crab is crispy and well seasoned and not overfried. Among the vast variety of pasta dishes, spaghetti with Italian sausage, chilli and tomato is recommended as it appeals to local tastes with its spicy overtones. For a meaty indulgence, try lamb stew simmered with rosemary and carrots. While the lamb is served chopped, it is tender and proves a hearty combination with warm mashed potato and mixed vegetables. Desserts are abundant. Try signature Cha-Yen cake with a nice tea flavour.
