A busy group of Thai chefs have become quite proficient at preparing the Cantonese-style food. The kitchen is located at the back of the restaurant but when the door opens, the heady smell of wok-fried dishes wafts into the dining area to help whet the appetite. There is an extensive dim sum menu with items served freshly cooked and in ample proportions; multi-coloured rainbow dumplings, each one resembling a sea creature, is a speciality. Pork appears to be the house speciality and the secret Monkeys sauce that accompanies crispy roast ribs is salty, sweet, sour and hot in a deliciously intriguing way. All your Cantonese favourites are on the menu but the preparation style is perhaps more London Soho than Hong Kong Causeway Bay. Desserts, in keeping with pretty much all of the dishes, come in hearty, filling portions.

Setting

The restaurant occupies a small house just off Thonglor. The grey-brick walls contrast nicely with large red lanterns and modern art.
