Food
The menu at Maison Chin is the work of veteran celebrity chef Ken Hom although dayto- day execution is in the hands of Narakorn Lertnibuna. For an appetiser, rich Saint-Sever foie gras goes very well with date compote and citrus and port wine sauce. For mains, try pan-fried South American snow fish, a dish that is truly a blend of Asian and Western cuisines. The fish is wrapped in crispy rice paper and served with coriander and sweet sun-dried tomato relish. Another culinary delight is wok-fried wagyu beef with oyster sauce; served with an onion confit, the meat is extraordinarily fragrant, fresh and tender. Maison Chin even manages to find a new angle on that old warhorse, panna cotta; the use of coconut milk makes it the perfect choice to round off the meal.
Setting
Set within the premises of Bandara Suites, off Silom Road, the eatery defines everything that is considered as contemporary Asian. Very intimate and ideal for lovers, the restaurant is dimly lit with candles.
