Chef Okuda Yuya has taken over
the restaurant, offering cuisine that is essentially
contemporary French with a Japanese inflection. In
addition to the a la carte offerings, three set menus
together with a wine-pairing set represent the chef's
recommended selections. The Japanese touch in
hearty grilled vegetable salad and Australian wagyu beef
tartare comes from the wasabi and crunchy seaweed
among the raw meat-a nice blend of textures and
tastes. Signature bouillabaisse is more of a main course
than a soup, with a consomme in a cup surrounded by
grilled and pan-fried seafood. Rack of lamb is marinated
with Haccho red miso and is tender and flavourful. A
dessert sampler provides ice cream, mousse in a glass
and cheesecake.
Don't let the closed gate turn you off; the guard will let you in if you have a reservation. The restaurant is a long space with tables and seating for about 30 people running down both sides of the room.
