Shrimp mousse on sugar cane
skewer might not look too prepossessing but it is light,
delicate and delicious. The menu consists exclusively
of Vietnamese food although the culinary differences
between Vietnam and Thailand are not huge and a
couple of dishes have a distinctly Thai feel. Once you
have tasted Vietnamese fresh prawn spring rolls it is
difficult to go back to the more common fried variety.
Mud crab with salt and garlic is highly recommended
and the mixed entree, combining several starters, gives
a good introduction to various Vietnamese dishes for
the uninitiated. What better way to finish the meal
then with a cup of strong coffee, brewed the traditional
Vietnamese way?
If you like Vietnamese food you will like Madam T, now at its new location on Sukhumvit Soi 23. All the traditional delicacies are on offer prepared by a team of well-trained chefs under the watchful eye of the madame herself, a Thai lady with a lifelong fascination for all things Vietnamese.
