Different aspects of the menu will
appeal to different people. Aficianados of the sort of
Chinese food widely available on British high streets
will appreciate pan-fried chicken breast with lemon
sauce and whole barbecued peking duck which comes
complete with pancakes and plum sauce. This is not your
average high street takeaway, though, and the quality of
the food is consistently outstanding. There is a wide
selection of dim sum dishes which are painstakingly
prepared, with the delicate flour covering on the
dumplings almost translucent. Local favourites include
river prawns in tamarind sauce and Phuket lobster with
foie gras. The extensive dessert menu features some
Chinese classics such as bird's nest with hot coconut
milk and sesame dumpling in hot ginger syrup.
Lin Fa is extremely popular with senior public servants and serves as something of a de facto decision-making hub in Bangkok. They come not just for the privacy provided by the Chinese-style screens, but for the excellent food.
