FOOD
Long known for its delectable pastries, Lenotre has recently expanded its food selections. Although part of a French-based chain, its appetisers prioritise Asian flavours, in dishes such as Japanese sea scallop satay. Spiced seared red tuna is another juicy delicacy with an innovative accompaniment of scallop mousse as well as wasabi and soysauce. The main courses, ranging from steak to seafood, are more wholeheartedly Western, if not identifiably French. Salmon steak with spinach and potato gnocchi is sumptuous even without the bitter tang of the mushroom sauce. A rich, sophisticated dish, porcini mushroom risotto with pan-fried scallop can easily pass for two servings. be sure to keep room for desserts. Warm moelleux chocolate pudding is worth the 10-minute wait, as it is filled with delicious pistachio creme brulee and ice-cream. A lighter alternative is schuss aux fruits, which puts almond biscuit and cheese mousse alongside mango sherbet and zesty raspberry sauce.
