In addition to serving the best
breakfast in Bangkok, Lenotre lays claims to being the
number one pastry shop in the capital. A simple menu
that rarely changes offers consistently good food.
Tomato soup, with its zesty citrus spice tinge, is served
with asparagus, tapenade, basil and a peppered pea
macaroon; with the fresh bread basket it's a meal in
itself. Excellent duck leg confit is served with broad
beans, sun-dried tomato, fried diced potato and a mix
of apple and mushroom bits. Spare ribs, marinated for
12 hours and glazed with plum sauce and molasses,
genuinely fall off the bone. And for the American in Paris
try oilman's hamburger, prepared to a special Texan
recipe and served with paprika french fries. For dessert,
chocolate souffle is awesome.

Chef Chavalit Yamwong, who has been with the restaurant since opening, has assumed head cook duties and is outshining his French predecessors at this breezy, relaxed but stylish all-day dining restaurant and bar. Sit at the outside terrace and imagine you are in Paris as the world passes by.
