FOOD

Nicoise salad is a bright and healthy bowl of tuna, fresh raw onions, lots of lettuce and other satisfying chews. Goat cheese salad is good and arrives as three nicely flavourful crescent shapes amid plenty of lettuce, all pleasantly doused with oil and vinegar. Lamb shank is especially divine and definitely recommended because it is deftly cooked until only a mild flavour emerges from the gigantic mound of meat, surrounded by mashed potatoes and vegetables, and is so soft you can break off pieces with a fork. For dessert, go for pear in wine, which is a hot, uncut pear, completely saturated in wine and includes some cinnamon highlights. The menu frequently changes and is put up on a large blackboard.
