An extensive, detailed menu offers cold and hot appetisers, vinegared dishes, salads, sashimi, sushi, grilled, boiled and fried dishes, teppanyaki, soups and hot pot choices with familiar and more unique selections represented. Chilled seaweed salad with sesame dressing is subtle and delightfully textured. Sashimi is typical, yielding no revelations, but broiled eel nigiri is a tasty and savoury morsel. California maki would fare better with real instead of mock crab and more generous use of avocado. The house recommends pickled melon preserved in sake dregs. Mixed tempura is inconsistent, with some items light and crispy, while others are doughy and oily. Teppanyaki-style kobe beef sirloin is tender and nicely grilled as is delicious, succulent snow fish. The dessert menu features a selection of hot dishes, ice cream and shaved ice treats topped with syrups and various bean and seed pastes.
