Kabuki's emphasis is on private rooms that surround the communal dining area defined by dark, wooden furniture.

FOOD

Kabuki offers a bountiful selection of sushi, udon and suki in moderate servings. The pricier imported toro sashimi can do with less of the fatty meat, whereas salmon sashimi is presented beautifully with just the right texture and flavour. Another surprisingly tasty choice is green avocado salad with the crisp, green lettuce in sesame dressing enhanced by the subtle hint of the sour vinegar and radish. Served in a stone pot, unagi rice is recommended where the rice is enhanced with butter and elaborately garnished with eel. Asari butter or stir-fried short-necked clams comes slightly overcooked with spring onion and butter. A sweet finale, orange-flavoured crushed ice comes complimentary with every meal. Desserts are traditional and available in quite a variety, such as moji.
