SETTING
Jamesense is a stylish eatery in a residential condominium. Diners can choose between light wooden chairs and tables, and more relaxed, pillow-strewn benches.
FOOD
The restaurant serves international cuisine with Mediterranean influences, which encompasses everything from all-day breakfast menu to a number of Thai favourites. Recommendations among the appetisers include fried gruyere cheese and ham rolls with apple and lime sauce; hummus with pitta bread; and chicken wings with blue cheese sauce. French onion soup is excellent, unusually made with chicken stock, but heavy on the onions, and with traditional French bread and melted cheese topping. Also try big mama salad, incorporating marinated eggplant and capsicum, topped with smoked salmon. Grilled salmon James style is a Norwegian fish steak with scallops, mushrooms, onions, garlic and creamy white wine sauce. Grilled meat, poultry and seafood are served with a choice of sauces. As for desserts, be sure not to miss outstanding warm chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream.
