Food

The name and logo imply soulless fast food, but Indian Hut is much better than that. Start with pakoras, battered vegetable beignets, good for nibbling and sharing. As in most Indian restaurants, vegetarian cuisine is particularly impressive. Paneer tikka, cubes of curd cheese, is light and tasty. Kadi pakoda, dumplings in a slightly sour sauce, is addictively good. Dal maa Indian Hut, with simmered lentils, could do with a bit more spice. Carnivores will enjoy mutton champ tawa masala or kadhai chicken with green peppers. Bindhi masala, an okra dish, makes a good accompaniment. A number of Indian-Chinese dishes are also available. If you have room for dessert, consider kulfi Indian ice cream or syrupy gulab jamun. Indian Hut remains hugely popular, especially with Bangkok's Indian and British residents; it would be nice to see a few more Thais giving it a try.

Setting

The decor is clean and unobtrusive, with crisp white linen and cream walls. People come here for the food, not the view.
