FOOD
Nice, tasty, often whimsical dishes designed to amuse, feed and satisfy. A good smoked salmon salad with capers and horseradish cream is so cold it has frost, and comes with a pile of capers and white sauce on the side. Spaghetti tuna and tomato sauce places olives on rectangles of tuna, and is a pleasing pasta dish. Grilled vegetables with pesto sauce includes slices of eggplant, red bellpepper and a fine, warm pesto. Chicken tacos with Mexican spices arrive as a set of eight bite-sized triangles of pastry, each topped with a dab of chicken and shredded cheese, plus some shreds of lettuce, all circling some red chilli sauce. A beef version is also available. Interesting salads also appear on the menu, which boasts main courses influenced by German, Italian and British recipes.
