The large menu covers all Japanese cuisine styles and dishes, which means one visit is not enough to cover all the bases. The house speciality of deep-fried tofu is a must, but recommended salmon salad is overpowered by raw onion. Grilled mackerel with rich soy is delicious, as is grilled sirloin, albeit slightly chewy. Tempura vegetables is light and suitably crispy. Miso soup tastes authentic. Round off the meal with homemade okura ice cream or one of the other tempting traditional or Western desserts.

Setting

simple layout with clean lines and large windows letting in ample light. The sushi and teppanyaki bar, plus the private rooms, give this hotel restaurant the Japanese character it requires.
