FOOD
Hazara gets its name from a tribal region of Afghanistan but serves a mixture of healthy country and rich courtly cooking associated with the cuisine of northern India. Start with punjabi samosa, tasty pastry pyramids stuffed with spicy vegetables, or paneer pakora, freshly-made cottage cheese fritters shallow-fried. But leave room for the house speciality machli tikka rampuri, a seasonal boneless fish marinated in mustard oil and spices that is a tad dry. Another favourite is tawa jheenga, or king prawns cooked with a mixture of ginger, onion and coriander, flavourful and very tender. Hazara's most famous dish is raan e Hazara, or leg of baby lamb marinated in a mixture of Indian spices. From the selection of vegetarian dishes, dhal hazara, or black lentils simmered over the tandoor, is worth mentioning.
