SETTING

The interior retains the original structure from its pre-renovation days, but today with a more modern flair. Chairs are in a flaming red colour. One end boasts a sushi bar while one side houses private rooms.

FOOD

This long-time favourite restaurant still serves an extensive list of excellent Japanese fare, but with the addition of a creative element from the chef, with a menu that changes monthly to boot. From the maki sushi menu, spicy tuna roll is scrumptious; the tuna is fresh and tasty and the item definitely stands out from other places offering the same thing. Norwegian wood is another tasty dish of rolls with lavendersmoked salmon and cream cheese topped with thinly sliced avocado - a delicious blend with a harmonious texture. Kobe beef shinoda maki presents grilled kobe beef roll with asparagus and fried bean curd on the inside, which is most aromatic and incredibly tender. Diet snow fish teriyaki is, according to the wait staff, supposed to not be fattening because the fat has been rid of in the process of cooking. Two words to describe the fish: ultra fresh. For dessert, goma dango, deep-fried sesame mochi ball filled with Japanese custard cream, is delicious.
