FOOD:

The menu is mostly European, with a definite bias towards French specialities. Fresh oysters are delivered every week, and they make a good starter with lemon and fried garlic. Alternatively, seek out such classic delicacies as beef carpaccio or fried frogs'legs. There are several steak options, including juicy Australian tenderloin with a simple but effective mushroom sauce. Barramundi with foie gras is a rich fish possibility, or check out the imaginative pasta selection; squid ink fettucine with seafood is substantial and tasty but maybe a little over-generous with the chilli. Desserts, all of them sound, include panna cotta, tarte tatin and creme brulee with Grand Marnier.

SETTINGS:

Now settling down in its latest location on the cusp of Ekamai 10 and 12, Fabb offers decent Europeanstyle cuisine in a cosy atmosphere, decorated with art nouveau posters and enhanced by the sound of live jazz. Staff is friendly, but some have trouble living up to the aspirations of the place.
