The menu is mostly European,
with a definite bias towards French specialities. Fresh
oysters are delivered every week, and they make a good
starter with lemon and fried garlic. Alternatively, seek
out such classic delicacies as beef carpaccio or fried
frogs'legs. There are several steak options, including
juicy Australian tenderloin with a simple but effective
mushroom sauce. Barramundi with foie gras is a rich fish
possibility, or check out the imaginative pasta selection;
squid ink fettucine with seafood is substantial and
tasty but maybe a little over-generous with the chilli.
Desserts, all of them sound, include panna cotta, tarte
tatin and creme brulee with Grand Marnier.
Now settling down in its latest location on the cusp of Ekamai 10 and 12, Fabb offers decent Europeanstyle cuisine in a cosy atmosphere, decorated with art nouveau posters and enhanced by the sound of live jazz. Staff is friendly, but some have trouble living up to the aspirations of the place.
