FOOD

A plethora of good Italian restaurants seems to be popping up in Bangkok but Duilio's manages to hold its own. There are many classic dishes to choose from, among them minestrone dell ortolano, a traditional vegetable soup that is a light prelude to what is to come next. Another must-try for starters is carpaccio di salmone al balsamico; the dish features thinly sliced smoked salmon and green peppercorns that go excellently with the tangy balsamic vinegar. Adding to the flavor some taste is its generous portion. For mains,the pasta creations are commendable, notably rigatoni alla Duilio's. The homemade pasta is well-cooked and matches exceptionally well with a bolognese sauce, cream and mozzarella. With its cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and parmesan, pizza sciue sciue is worth considering, though a little less impressive than the pasta. For desserts, panna cotta that slowly melts in the mouth is recommended, as is tiramisu
