Food
A very extensive menu ranging from teppanyaki courses to Matsuzaka beef a la carte and assorted sushi to deep-fried lobster tempura. Most if not all ingredients are imported fresh from Japan. Start with salmon tataki, seared sliced salmon, onion and garden vegetables with ponzu dressing, or kuchidori moriawase, an assortment of delicacies. For mains try matsuzaka beef sirloin, probably the highest quality of marbled beef. Grilled giant blue river prawns with sea urchin paste and refined with calvados and balsamic cream sauce comes highly recommended. The high quality of the food is also found in the desserts: plum wine jelly mango ice cream with fresh mango, or vanilla ice cream and vintage sake is a treat for the palate.
Setting
The restaurant is spacious and patrons may choose to sit at the teppanyaki station, sushi counter or tables overlooking the lobby of the Conrad Hotel.
