Formerly Anna's Cafe, this bright and airy eatery has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, ideal for family dining.
FOOD
Charlie's offers a choice of both Thai and Western food. the Western selection is relatively simple - mainly salads, pastas and steak dishes - while the Thai menu provides some of the best-loved local dishes. From the appetisers, try fried chicken wings with special chilli dip, or fried shrimp cakes, both house specialities. Or for something less fattening, Thai spicy papaya salad, or fried tofu. One of the most popular dishes here is stir-fried calamari with salted eggs; a strange-sounding combination, but utterly delicious. Stir-fried soft shell crab with yellow curry sauce is also mouthwateringly good. Other musts are deep-fried samlee fish with mango sauce, and stir-fried young sayote shoots with oyster sauce. The desserts are not to be missed: try renowned banoffee pie, chocolate mud cake, irresistible chocolate pudding, or baked banana slices in a special sauce with vanilla ice cream.
