FOOD:

Along with the wine list, the menu is true to Bistro M's international theme, covering a wide range of major cuisines. Italian is well represented, as is Thai, although with a fusion approach, Indian and French also make significant contributions. Bouillabaisse is a very good example and understandably a chef's special, being everything this dish should be: hearty, wellbalanced and full of fresh seafood. Tuna with avocado tartare is also promising, although it is easy for the wasabi component to overpower the delicate nature of the tuna. The avocado is perfectly ripe however, and a good textural complement. Following on, spaghetti with lamb shank ragout is subtly flavoured, which is a good thing given the ample portion size. Phad kra prao kae, another signature dish, is nicely presented and again quite large, although quite heavy on soy sauce.

SETTINGS:

A wide range of suitably executed dishes, relatively cheap and coupled with quick attentive service make Bistro M a no-brainer when looking for a casual dinner.
