Bamboo Chic's sushi and sashimi
selections are superb, using fresh and high quality
ingredients. Supper dragon roll has a sophisticated
flavour with grilled eel, sauteed duck liver and tobiko,
cucumber and lettuce rolled inside out with avocado.
Shark's fin steamed egg custard is a variation on shark's
fin soup, while the chefs do a good job of infusing panfried
foie gras glazed with miso, served with mushrooms
and spring onions. Another recommended dish, panfried
Australian lamb chops presents meat not as
tender as it should be, but lemon lime marshmallow
with mango and fresh pomelo sorbet is definitely a treat
to remember.
While it can be considered modern and stylish, with its high ceiling and low lighting, Bamboo Chic looks more like a night club than a restaurant. Tables are arranged on different levels, with a buffet area close to the open kitchen, where chefs display their skills while preparing the cuisine. The staff is of definite five-star hotel quality; friendly, helpful and well trained.
