Antonio's signature home-made
ravioli should not be missed; the porcini mushroom
filling is fabulous and the truffle sauce is rich, but not
heavy. Al dente white asparagus in parma ham with
cream of gorgonzola sauce risks being too salty, but is
perfectly seasoned, with the ham adding bite and the
sauce gently supporting it. Lamb shank with penne is
an osso buco-style dish with a red sauce that manages
to be simultaneously light and hearty. Pork cordon bleu
comes on the bone ensuring a juicy experience rounded
out with a light mustard sauce. Tiramisu can be boring,
but Antonio's version certainly is not. The sweetness of
the pastry in chocolate souffle
could be toned down
to let the dark chocolate take centre stage, but this is a
very minor quibble.

Antonio Armenio delights in sharing the joys of the Italian family kitchen he grew up in. The emphasis is on great flavours, not overwrought presentation. The venue is hip but cosy with low lights and Italian tunes . A well-trained staff takes pride in its work.
