The Thai chef has been trained by Finnish restaurateur Juha Granfors, and the food reflects this. If you are a sucker for salmon, choose the smoked variety as gravlax is a little greasy and flavorless and does not come with the habitual mustard based sauce. Jahnson Frestelse (potatoes, cream and anchovies) tastes as if it has been prepared by a Swedish native, although it would have benefited from being served on a warm plate. Beef Lindstrom arrives in a burger bun with fries and a slice of cheese on top; the red juice is not blood, but beetroot juice. For dessert, try pancake sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with sour cream and strawberry jam.

Setting

In a modernized walking street near the Holiday Inn, the only Finnish restaurant in Bangkok offers a choice between a trattoria style coffee-and-a-bite, or a more substantial meal upstairs. Furnishings are minimal, in the Scandinavian style.
