Chef Oat Sooppapipatt, the sixth brother in the restaurant's name, serves unpretentious, well-executed bistro food to sophisticated locals who appreciate the friendly vibe and unabashed flavours. Lobster bisque is light, full of rich shellfish tones. Starters, like grilled eringi mushroom in a tomato-garlic-chive salsa, are memorable flavourbombs. Pan-fried duck foie gras is exquisite, a crisp, light meld of fat and balsamic. Warm salad of seafood, though, is too pungent. Spicy chilli-and-basil-based Thai-lian classics like spaghetti kee mao seafood liven up the pasta menu. Alaska scallops come seared, carpaccio, roasted or baked in a bechamel, gruyere and prawn sauce. Pan-fried Chilean sea bass in a peppery tomato cream sauce is a must-try. Meat dishes include Australian beef and lamb. Close with crepes suzette and vanilla ice cream.

Setting

Located 500 metres down a sub-soi, 6th Fratelli is a simply decorated neighbourhood place that seats about 30 people. Dining is relaxed, with muzak and TV on throughout.
