Recommended 5 Star Hotels in Sukhumvit

From the moment you step into the chic, black marble lobby of Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, with its sweeping lines and oversized bouquet of lilies and lotus flowers, the frenzy of downtown Bangkok fades away, replaced by a contemporary elegance that is the hallmark of the Sofitel brand. Check-in is completed in a carpeted living-room area attached to the lobby or even up on the Millesime club room floor for executive room guests. Six restaurants ensure there is something to suit every taste, but the definite standout fine-dining option is LAppart French Restaurant on the 32nd floor, styled as a high-society apartment from the late 19th Century. Best 4 Star Hotels in Sukhumvit

The Continent Bangkok by Compass Hospitality has one of the most envious locations in Bangkok, a few steps from the Asoke junction on Sukhumvit Road, and only minutes from the skytrain, MRT and Terminal 21 Mall - one of the most popular shopping centres in the city. The hotels travelling theme is cleverly incorporated into the hotel surroundings and facilities but it never feels overdone: the awning over the front entrance has a Parisian feel, as do the chandeliers that hang over the black and gold reception and if you head up to Axis and Spin rooftop bar, there is an almost Phileas Fogg gentlemans club feel to the space, albeit with fantastic views of Bangkoks skyscrapers. Axis and Spin looks down over the Continent hotels swimming pool and 02 bar, which share the incredible vista. Read More...

With a prominent use of glass throughout the hotel and a minimalist white colour scheme, Grande Centre Point Hotel Sukhumvit Terminal 21 mixes a contemporary Thai style with unmistakably modern twists. The building itself is striking, with a golden stupa-like rooftop that is recognisable from across the city and the outdoor infinity pool ringed by frangipani trees is a wonderful area for relaxing, looking out over Sukhumvit Road with a lake view of Benjakitti Park. With many activities onsite - including tennis, karaoke and a putting green - as well as direct access to one of Bangkoks best shopping malls there are enough activities to please the whole family. Best Hotels in Nana

Nana BTS station is close to Sukhumvit 'sois' (lanes) 5, 6 and 7, an area known for nightlife and its street market. The infamous Nana Plaza (a Go-Go 'mall') is possibly the area's biggest attraction, but there are also many tailors, jewellery shops, great restaurants and the charming Little Arabia, an authentic touch of the Middle East with wonderful (and different) eating experiences. The Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, where many exhibitions and trade fairs are held throughout the year, is also close by.

Grand Sukhumvit Hotel, an Accor property, combines comprehensive five star facilities with an excellent location in a quiet residential street directly off Sukhumvit Road. Being within walking distance of one of the great business, shopping and leisure thoroughfares of Bangkok, Grand Sukhumvit Hotel is in the midst of the action yet brings an element of calm to contrast the frantic activity happening all around. The BTS Skytrain Station at Nana is only five minutes walk from the entrance to the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel so travelling around the city is quick and convenient, while some of the finest restaurants, bars and nightlife opportunities are in plentiful supply all around the area. Guest facilities provides something for all the family, with a state-of-the-art fitness centre and attached sauna, elegant swimming pool and Jacuzzi designed in a faux traditional Thai style, and an excellent onsite spa offering a range of therapies. The three star Le Fenix Sukhumvit 11 Bangkok by Compass Hospitality on Sukhumvit Soi 11 fits in well with the cool bars and clubs that line this popular party street. If you want to be only steps away from some of Bangkoks best nightlife, then this is the place for you. Behind the hotels glass facade you will find not only comfortable bedrooms, but also somewhere to grab a bite, and perhaps a cocktail at the hotels very own rooftop bar. On the first floor, overlooking the bustling street outside is Flow bar, a chilled space where you can enjoy a drink or a light bite to eat. Head up to the eighth floor and Nest rooftop lounge for more of a party atmosphere; we love their goldfish-bowl-sized cocktails, ideal for sharing while lounging back on a cabana. Le Fenix Hotel also has a small indoor gym, so you can keep up with your fitness regime.  Read More...

Asoke

One of the biggest conveniences of this area is that the Sukhumvit BTS line connects here with the underground (MRT), giving you the flexibility to explore larger parts of the city with public transportation (quickly and conveniently). This is near Sukhumvit 'sois' (sub-streets) 14, 16, 19 and 21, and also home to a large Robinson's Departments Store, a TOPS Supermarket and smaller malls like Times Square. At night, street vendors set up shop in the area around the BTS station, and a wide range of Asian and international restaurants can also be found here.

Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit stands out from the crowd for many reasons, not least because of its impressive glass sail facade, reminiscent of the world famous Dubai Hotel. The interiors leave a more subtle impression, with rooms decorated in a rich palette of chocolate browns and nude tones. A little part of Thailand is weaved into the design with wallpapers inspired by the floral motifs in temples, rustic carved shutters outside your door and sepia shots of Thai landmarks in the rooms and suites. The beds are some of the most comfortable that weve laid our heads on and there is a cosy chair for lounging on and a desk if you need to catch up with work. Warm lighting gives the guest rooms a welcoming glow in the evenings and from the window you can enjoy the view of Bangkoks twinkling skyscrapers. Wi-Fi is available and there is a flat screen television with a good selection of international channels. Every bathroom has a separate tub and shower. Read More...

Thonglor

Once a purely residential neighbourhood, due to its slightly off-centre location, Thonglor has blossomed into a centre for nightlife and shopping, though with a more sophisticated feel than, say, Siam, Silom and other areas along Sukhumvit. Rather than lifestyle mega-malls, you have low-rise open-air ‘boutique’ malls and independent shops lining its 2km stretch. After sunset, the entire Thonglor transforms into a playground for the hip and cool, with a handful of swanky bars and pubs competing for your attention. With the BTS Skytrain Thonglor Station, commuting to downtown Sukhumvit or Silom is a breeze.

The eight-storey Pan Pacific Serviced Suites is located on Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thonglor), a happening street lined with trend-setting bars, restaurants and art galleries. This area is home to foreign expatriates and well-heeled locals. It is also linked to other major downtown areas, such as Phrom Phong, Asok, Siam and Silom via the BTS Skytrain Thonglo Station. The property offers 148 serviced suites, comprising Executive Suites and One to Three Bedroom Suites, each stylishly designed and featuring premium branded amenities as well as high-speed internet access. Upon checking in, you will be welcomed with a personalised welcome hamper. Enjoy a range of cutting-edge facilities, including an infinity-edge outdoor pool with panoramic city view, a fitness centre, concierge, children’s playground and grocery shopping and deliver service. Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor is a decent option for those who want to explore a very cool, but less visited (by tourists) area of the city. Thong Lor is a popular street for cutting edge restaurants, funky bars with amazing mixologists and vintage clothes stores. It is a busy and friendly neighbourhood, with trees lining the roads and good connections to the rest of Bangkok. Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor is only short walk from the sky train and offers a more homely experience than many hotels in the area, with all the facilities and comfort you can expect from a four star hotel. Rooms are modern and chic, with a classy black, white and silver theme running through the entire hotel. Large windows offer impressive city views and start with a Studio Executive guest room that measures a comfortable 42 square metres and come with a soft Kind size bed. Set up to feel like apartments, these rooms come with a lounge area, tablet and chairs, kitchen with all the fixtures and fittings, large marble bathroom with shower and tub and a spacious closet.
