What to Do at Night in Siam
Shopping, cinemas, bowling, karaoke, some live entertainment and that's about it. Siam doesn't offer much in the way of nightlife. However, there are a few pubs, clubs and bars scattered around, most catering to young fashionable locals.
Siam Square has a Hard Rock Cafe that is recommended for live music. Busy every night, nightclub complex Concept CM2, beneath the Novotel Hotel on Siam Square, is worth a visit if you're looking for a boogie. There's a great live band playing every night, International DJ's playing from time to time, and a popular hip-hop room.Read More

Siam and Ploenchit areas are better known for their extensive lineup of restaurants and shopping malls. Clubbing doesn't come to mind when it comes to nightlife in this part of town. But if you happened to be in the area, or would rather not wander far off from your hotel, then Siam Square is probably your best bet.
More entertainment complex than club, this stylish modern basement beneath the Novotel Siam Square Hotel pulls in an eclectic mix of tourists and girls every night of the week. The sprawling main room is focussed around a stage, with a dance-floor and many raised tables and stools fringing it.
Here the all-singing, all-dancing All Star Band plays the latest R&B, hip-hop, dance, pop and rock hits (Thursday through to Tuesday). In between their energising sets, DJ's Bom, Kriss and Ex serve up similarly commercial sounds, pumping the latest house and dance tracks while also working up a frenzy with promo competitions and crowd-rousing banter. They also fly in international DJ's for special guest appearances (check our Club Nights section for weekly events schedule).
Those preferring to bump and grind can do so in the suitably moody Boom Room. Adjoining the main room, the latest hip-hop and R&B tracks are spun here. There's also a rather sexy looking new adjoining venue Bar@Siam, offering sleek, comfy furnishings alongside sports TVs, pool tables, air hockey, international food and pinball machines. There's an extensive drinks menu offered throughout, with cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, even champagne available. Service throughout is quick and friendly with bars at each end and plenty of table waiters roaming the floor.

Siam Bars and Pubs
Siam's bar scene leans towards top-end luxury. Most are housed inside a handful of five-star hotels dotting the areas from the Ratchaprasong to Patumwan intersections. Besides cutting-edge ambiance and flawless service, some of these hotel bars also boast stunning 360-views of the Bangkok skyline from the rooftop.
Bar @ Siam Square
Launched with the 'interactive bar' concept, Bar @Siam Square has been crafted to appeal to the post-work cocktail crowd, or those looking for traditional pub-style entertainment. Architecturally it's a treat – dark and snazzy, with sleek comfy furnishings, soft vibrant lighting and modular paneling on ceilings and walls lending a sexy, futuristic feel.
Meanwhile, no less than 13 plasma screens screening wall-to-wall sports, pool tables, arcade games and a pinball machine bring to mind a trendy bachelor pad, though there's a cocktail, wine list and international food menu that should appeal to the girls too. Don't miss the Interactive Happy Hour Game (until 22:00), where after ordering drinks you press a buzzer to try and stop flashing lights on 'Free' or 'Half Price!' Afterwards, the wall here slowly disappears, the place merging with Concept CM2: the Novotel Siam Square's 11-year-strong and still very popular nightclub. Those dining or drinking here get free entry.

This atmospheric bar perched atop Centara Grand’s rooftop feels rather out of this world, thanks to its clever lighting design and spaceship-themed décor. With the stars above your head and the bustle of downtown Bangkok a distant below, Red Sky sets the scene for a romantic evening. Cosy up on the sofa and order a glass of wine from a selection of 200 labels or try an imaginative concoction from the martini bar. Food is more like culinary art – the menu is not extensive but one of the most creative in Bangkok’s gourmet dining scene. Live jazz entertainment and unrivalled 360-view from the 55th floor top off the experience. Read More...

It’s open every evening from 18:00 until 23:00, perfect for catching the sunset and enjoying the ribbons of red light winding along the city’s ring road. Other Nightlife in Siam
After stints in Phuket and Chiang Mai, Playhouse Theatre has brought their family-friendly ladyboy show to Bangkok with all the feather boas and sequins you’d expect and enough silicone to keep the Titanic afloat. The show differs from most other transvestite cabarets in that the emphasis is on showmanship (excuse the pun), with some laugh-out-loud moments, rather than any kind of erotic dancing. There are over ten separate acts during the 1 hour 15 minute performance during which time the audience will be treated to renditions of Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Swan Lake, and a comedy compere who keeps the laughs coming with an accomplished performance. The Scala Cinema in Siam Square offers a more modest one-screen experience compared to the large complex situated in Siam Paragon just across the road. Built in 1967, this exquisitely maintained movie theatre is worth a trip not only for the bargain priced seats and popcorn, but also for the retro setting. From the tickets to the building, everything here has been preserved and it is worth a trip just to stand in the domed-ceiling entrance and be transported to another age. Read More...
