SOMERSET LAKE POINT BANGKOK REVIEW

Imagine staying in the heart of the city's thriving Central Business District where everything you need is within comfortable reach, and at the same time still be able to revel in a rare glimpse of green. As impossible as it may sound, all that can be experienced at Somerset Lake Point Bangkok, a four-star serviced apartment that brilliantly combines the conveniences of city living, excellent service and the serenity of nature under one roof.

Exploring the 'culture of comfort'

Hidden away in a quiet, yet well-supplied street of Soi Sukhumvit 16, just off Asoke intersection, Somerset Lake Point is only ten minutes' walk away from the main road. Don't let its humble exterior fool you, though, because once you step inside another world unfolds. The floor-to-ceiling glass door welcomes guests to a well-staffed lobby decked out in elegant wooden walls and amber lighting. Service is efficient and courteous, turning a normally tedious check-in into an agreeable experience.

Somerset Lake Point consists of two towers (Tower A and Tower B), bisected by The Terrace by Cool Chilli - a restaurant serving buffet breakfast. It is one of the few serviced apartments that offer a sweeping view of Lake Ratchada, surrounded by the peaceful Benjasiri Park. Together, the towers house 350 guest apartments which vary in size from the compact studio to the massive four-bedroom. Each comes with a fully-equipped kitchenette, broadband Internet access, washing machine, home entertainment system, large bathroom with separate shower, and a feather-soft bed with a complimentary Somerset teddy bear sitting on it - further emphasizing Somerset's unique concept of the 'culture of comfort'.

'Heartware' service & winning facilities

Operating under the umbrella of The Ascott group - a renowned international leader in hotel service, Somerset Lake Point flawlessly delivers its signature 'Heartware' experience which aims at offering guests memorable experience as well as applying 'service from the heart' and 'going the extra mile' through the attentive and ever-smiling staff.

Second to none in offering its guests extensive services and facilities, each of Somerset Lake Point's towers boasts a swimming pool (indoor in Tower B and outdoor in Tower A), squash courts, fitness centres, Jacuzzis and saunas. There is also a mini mart, Tour & Travel Desk, and a massage service that can be had right in the comfort of your room from 10:00 to 22:00. Wi-Fi Internet access is available at the pool area, lobby and Business Centre (Tower B). A complimentary 'tuk tuk' shuttle service (to The Emporium, Carrefour, or main road to the BTS Skytrain Asoke Station and the MRT subway Sukhumvit Station) is available from 7:00 to 21:00.

Great eateries abound

Catering to every taste, Somerset Lake Point is home to great restaurants and bars. The recently-opened Japanese Kitchen Yoka Yoka (Tower A) serves traditional Japanese cuisine from the region of Kyushu. Cool Chilli (Tower B) serves popular Thai and Western cuisine for lunch and dinner. The famed Wyndham Thai Restaurant & Bar (Tower A) will dazzle you not only with its fabulous d-cor but also with its innovative contemporary Thai dishes. And don't miss out on the international buffet breakfast served daily from 6:00 to 10:00 at The Terrace by Cool Chilli (Tower A). Alternatively, explore around the area for more exciting choices of cuisine, or just place an order with the 'Food by Phone' service, and have it delivered to your room.

If you feel like getting your hands a little dirty and make use of the well-supplied kitchen, the area around Somerset Lake Point is dotted with supermarkets and groceries like the 24-hour Foodland, Tops Market Place, Carrefour and Gourmet Market (The Emporium), to name but a few.
