MAYFAIR BANGKOK MARRIOTT REVIEW

Unlike other executive apartments, the cream-coloured exterior of Mayfair Bangkok Marriott Executive Apartments doesn't flaunt its five-star lavishness. A green French-inspired rooftop with a round sky window does make it stand out from Langsuan's populous high-rise buildings though. Don't be fooled by the inconspicuous fa-ade, because once you step inside you're in for an unforgettable luxury experience...

Situated in Langsuan Road, one of Bangkok's most prestigious areas, and accessible by two Skytrain (BTS) stations (Ratchadamri and Chidlom), Mayfair Bangkok Marriott has the advantage of being close to virtually everything you need. If shopping is your favourite addiction, get your shopping fix at the city's shopping 'high street' just around the corner, where plenty of world-class labels are vying for your attention.

Culinary zealots are well-catered for as there's an abundance of restaurants in the area serving a variety of fine cuisine. The well-appointed Italian Calderazzo Bistro is impossible to miss, conveniently located right in front of the Mayfair's entrance. Up-scale supermarket Villa and Central Chidlom Department Store are also close by. Lumpini Park, Bangkok's largest park, is within short walking distance. Seeking some nightlife action? The city's infamous Silom is only one stop away from the Ratchadamri BTS station.

Fabulous facilities and the spirit to serve

Staying true to the 'It's the Marriott Way' philosophy, the 'spirit to serve' is ingrained in each and every one of the attentive staff. A refreshing scent of mint and lemongrass welcomes guests into the bridge-like walkway flanked by lotus-filled ponds.

Standing 26 stories tall, Mayfair Bangkok packs a wide range of facilities and amenities to suit every lifestyle. Health-conscious guests will love Kandara Spa and the 24-hour Health Club, which occupies the entire 26th floor, while executives will feel right at home at the 24-hour Business Centre with a fully-equipped meeting room.

If you're traveling with children, the Kids' Club is where you can leave them under the watchful eye of a qualified nanny, while you're sipping cocktails underneath the stars in Bar M, next to the infinity edge 'Skypool' on the 25th floor (where unobstructed, stunning views of Bangkok are available for free). Other services include in-house restaurant Mayfair Caf-, room service (available from 11:30 until 23:00), daily maid service, dry cleaning and laundry, cooking lessons, grocery delivery, a courier service, in-room movies and spa treatments, and the Bangkok Post delivered right at your door in the morning.

Suite dreams are made of this

There is a wide range of suites to choose from. Housing a total of 162 residences, Mayfair Bangkok offers choices between the One-bedroom Suite (Superior Suite: 54 - 64 square metres, Deluxe Suite: 84 square metres, Executive Suite: 110 square metres), Two-bedroom Suite (Superior Suite: 100 square metres, Deluxe Suite: 115 square metres, Executive Suite: 131 square metres), and Three-bedroom Suite (Superior Suite: 131 square metres, Deluxe Suite: 171.3 square metres, Executive Suite: 186.3 square metres).

Decorated in a contemporary Thai style, the suites represent a smooth marriage between luxury and functionality. The 'kanok' (Thai motif) silk bed runner further complements wooden furniture and Thai-inspired ornaments. The large, feather-soft bed and six puffy pillows will ensure the sweetest of dreams. And, if you're so inclined, the settee in the living room is just as comfy!

Each room comes fully equipped with modern conveniences like in-room safe, direct-line cordless telephone complete with voice mail function, high-speed Internet access (up to 4 MB/s), multiple large flat screen TVs with satellite feed, DVD player and stereo hi-fi, iron and ironing board, a fully equipped kitchen, coffee/tea making facilities, refrigerator, microwave oven, dish washer and washer/dryer (available in most suites). Two- and Three-bedroom Suites also feature a separate dining area.

Tip: Upgrading to a bigger room can cost as little as a few extra hundred baht - definitely a deal worth shelling out for!

Mayfair Bangkok: City living redefined

Since its opening in 2003, Mayfair Bangkok Marriott Executive Apartments has raised the bar to an exceptional level for executive apartments. While retaining its friendly and home-like atmosphere, the decoration exudes class and contemporary elegance, Thai style. Managed by the world-renowned Marriott Group, Mayfair Bangkok's service far exceeds five-star standards, and certainly goes beyond any expectation. It's essentially a home that redefines your city living with unpretentious hospitality, superior service, elegant d-cor, and an excellent location.
