What to Do at Night in Pratunam
If it's a night of hardcore partying you're after, you're in the wrong part of town. Pratunam is all about shopping; all day long and well into the night. It's easy to catch a cab to popular nightlife areas like Silom or Sukhumvit Road though, where you will be spoiled for choice. If you're looking for more nightlife alternatives, have a look in our Bangkok Nightlife Areas for more ideas.
Although there isn’t much to do in Pratunam once the sun sets, the area is not completely dead at night. Many hotels offer bars and lounges with live music, while dining at Bangkok Sky Restaurant at Baiyoke Sky Hotel - Bangkok’s tallest building, is an ideal, too.Read More

Bar9 Rooftop is located on the 9th floor of Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam, just on the right of the famous CentralWorld Shopping Mall and next to Platinum Shopping Mall. While the rooftop is modest in size, altitude and drink selection, it has a relaxed poolside atmosphere with a pleasant view on central Bangkok and the busy avenue leading to Siam shopping district.
What makes this small hidden rooftop bar worth mentioning is its strategic location just next to the hectic Pratunam area. Such a haven of peace after the heat of the busy market and exhausting shopping is a real blessing. Set on a soft artificial lawn, the sofas and Read More...

Bossy Club, Bossy Disco or just ‘Bossy’ on Soi Si Ayutthaya is the epitome of a naughty after-hours Bangkok nightclub. Some are lured in by the packs of girls who start to congregate inside after midnight, some stumble across it by chance and others end up here just because it’s where their taxi driver feels like going (they will often take you for free as they get a cut of your 300-400 baht entrance stamp).
Inside is dark, smoky and the pumping music means that emphasis is less on the conversation and more on the dancing and drinking. The crowd is mostly western men and Thai women, although you will find the odd exception to this unwritten rule. Find Bossy Club on Soi Si Ayutthaya off Ratchaprarop Road – although most taxi drivers around the Pratunam or Sukhumvit area will know the route like the back of their hand.
- Opening Hours: 22:00 - 04:00
- Location: Bossy Club, Soi Si Ayutthaya, Bangkok
Coco Walk in Bangkok is a lively little alleyway off Phayathai Road in the heart of the city, perfectly set up some bar hopping, Thai-style. The small soi of bars, pubs and restaurants lies in the shadow of the huge Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain Station, meaning that although this might not be the most picturesque drinking spot in town, it’s certainly one of the most convenient – especially if you’re staying in the one of dozens of hotels in the surrounding Pratunam or Ratchathewi area. Cru Rooftop Bar Bangkok is the highest and certainly one of the fanciest rooftop bars in Bangkok. It serves some exclusive labels of G.H. Mumm Champagne, a snack menu of world delicacies and offers its guests genuine 360 degree views of the city.
Located above Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Cru Bangkok takes pride of place on the 59th (and quite literally on the rooftop) of the hotel. It has a more intimate and sophisticated feel than Red Sky and Uno Mas below, with its own private lift and a chic, white-on-white design. There’s a large circular bar in the centre and a huge illuminated arch that changes colours throughout Read More...

Henry J Beans Bar and Grill
This classic all-American-style bar and restaurant is the place to come after hitting all the shops in Pratunam, and is located at the Amari Watergate Hotel opposite the big malls on Petchaburi Road. Opening time is a great time to come as that’s when their buy-one-get-one free happy hour starts (17:30-19:00), whilst they also have a live band playing from 21:00 on Thursday to Saturday. The place is huge too, decked out in American posters, artwork and memorabilia – although the whole feel of the place could also be compared to an Irish bar with its abundance of old wooden fixtures and high bar chairs.
Henry J Beans Bar and Grill also serves up a fine range of feel-good pub classics like burgers, stakes and juicy ribs, which can all be enjoyed whilst watching some live spots or playing a game of pool in the designated games area. Find it under the Amari Watergate Hotel opposite Platinum Fashion Mall.

Located at the ever-popular Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam, the Platinum Lounge is a stylish hotel bar which offers some great views across Pratunam as well as some excellent live music in the evenings. The sophisticated bar boasts some huge floor to ceiling windows, allowing plenty of light to flood inside in the daytime, as well as creating the perfect photo op of the bustling streets below. On the menu you’ll find plenty of tapas, as well as an international a la carte menu.
Platinum Lounge welcomes mostly hotel guests, although just like most Bangkok hotels, you are free to wine and dine here even if you’re not staying at the hotel, meaning this is a great post-shopping post if you’ve just hit the malls of the nearby Pratunam area. They also have live music starting from 19:00 Tuesday to Sunday.

Red Sky is a fancy rooftop bar and restaurant in Bangkok. While it doesn't offer striking riverside or treetop views that other rooftop bars enjoy, it has pretty impressive 360-degree panoramic vistas from its 55th floor, one of the most convenient locations in town.
If you visit Bangkok, chances are you will end up shopping in the Siam area, where the largest and most trendy shopping malls are located, such as the legendary Siam Paragon, MBK and the newly rebuilt CentralWorld. Red Sky bar is part of the Centara Grand Hotel, which itself is actually part of this gigantic CentralWorld shopping mall. So it seems to be a perfect combination: Read More...

Sapphire Bar at The Sukosol
Sapphire Bar opened in 2012 as part of the renovation of the Siam City Hotel (and subsequent name change to The Sukosol). This stylish bar, which is found in the lobby of the hotel, follows a distinctly 1920’s ‘speakeasy’ theme, fitting with the jazz-oriented roots of the hotel. The whole bar area is spacious and intricately designed, complete with blue vases sat on each table, classic furniture and a swanky mirrored ceiling.
Alongside some laidback jazz music in the background you can enjoy some tasty tapas as well as imaginative cocktails - happy hour runs from 17:00-19:00 daily. Sapphire Bar also lays on a rather luxurious ‘afternoon tea for two’ from 14:00-18:00.
- Opening Hours: 08:00 - 00:00 daily

The Rock Pub Bangkok is a long-running live music venue lying at the foot of Ratchathewi BTS Station in central Bangkok. With over 20 years in the game, and a modest list of international acts to grace their stage, this dingy Bangkok spot has gained an institution-like status for anyone into their rock n roll – and anything in between.
Expect plenty of guitars, lots of head-banging and even the odd mosh pit when it gets really crowded. The range of rock genres you’ll hear is diverse too, with bands playing everything from heavy metal, grunge, thrash and post-hardcore, depending on the night. Read More...

With 84 stories the Baiyoke Tower is an unmissable towering landmark in Pratunam area. The skywalk with large viewing windows on the 77th floor is the best place to get sweeping bird’s eye views of the skyline floor while the revolving rooftop observation deck on 84th floor is a bit too noisy and hot to keep visitors very long. Bayoke is currently the 2nd tallest building in Thailand, at 309 metres. Adding the 34.35-metre spire, the building is 343.35 metres tall in total.

WALK Rooftop at Centara Watergate is arguably the best bar in Pratunam. This rooftop bar lets you get a taste of the city’s upscale trendy nightlife, in a part of the city with not so many options for unwinding after a day of shopping in the markets and wholesale malls for which Pratunam is famous. This venue’s panoramic views and Thai-flavored cocktails are highly recommended.
